Becoming a household name
Heather came into the public eye following her life changing accident in 1993, when a police motorcycle collided with her, resulting in the loss of her left leg below the knee at the age of 25.
She inspired people with her resilience and commitment to carry on with dogged determination.
The public were mesmerised by this story of perseverance, and Heather became a household name from that moment on.

Model
Heather started her career as a model when she was entered into the Miss Cinzano of the year competition in 1991 by a friend. Frustrated by how models were treated, Heather went on to open her own agency, Exsell Model Management, which was famed for handling models’ rights.

Following on from Heather’s life changing accident in 1993, after being struck down by a police motorcycle, she went on to transform her life and became a well respected public figure and a known television personality.
She was a guest presenter on such shows as: The General, That’s Esther, Summer Holiday, 1st Say, Chill Out With Heather, Travelogue, and then went on to present Larry King live interviewing Paul Newman and covering the Royal Wedding of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Portrait Artist of the Year 2024
Heather Mills was a sitter for the Portrait Artist of the Year episode titled “Heather Mills, Kevin McCloud, Martha Kearney”. The episode aired on Sky Mix on November 20 2024.
The episode featured artists from the UK and Ireland competing to create portraits of the three sitters.
The artists had to capture the essence of the sitters within a limited time frame.
Heather said that being part of the show was an amazing experience and that she loved posing for the artists.
She also said that she was honoured to spend time in the sitter’s chair and that it was a treat to work with the artists.
Viewers said that the show was entertaining and inspirational, and that they were moved by the varied styles and methods of creating art on the show.
Larry King
After a long history of appearances on the Larry King Show, Heather was asked to present the legendary Larry King live in 2001. Paul Newman appeared on the show as her guest.
This was the last interview he gave.
