We are pleased to announce that Heather came 6th place against skiing legends in a charity ski race in Semmering, Austria. The race, organised by FAIST International Events and comprised of all able-bodied skiers apart from Heather, was a giant slalom race held on the sunny slopes of Strassenkarte.
Over 70 celebrity personalities and ski racers competed in the race, including model Werner Schreyer, Sonja Kirchberger and Liz Mitchell from pop group Boney M.
Skiers gathered at the idyllic Hotel Herlinde before the race kicked off at 3 p.m. to perfect weather conditions and beautiful clear skies.
Heather later danced the night away at the charity gala in the glitzy Casino Baden near Vienna, where the winning competitors were announced on stage.
Adding to the entertainment of the evening were Flying Pickets legend Gary Howard, Jazz Gitti, Petra Frey, Peter Kent and Silvio Samoni. There was also a special performance by Boney M, accompanied on stage by Danilo Campisi and Thomas Krahl, who together performed the 70s hit tracks ‘Gotta Go Home' and 'Sunny' to thunderous applause.
All funds raised at the event went to the Let it be Foundation of Liz Mitchell/Boney M, which aims to help establish better schooling facilities for children in Gambia.
